Nancy Tartaglione has been covering the entertainment business since the mid-90s having started out as a reporter at Variety. Since 2001, she has been the French correspondent for www.ScreenDaily.com and Screen International and is also the editor of www.HollywoodWiretap.com. Nancy has been based in Paris, France for 15 years. This is her 12th Cannes Film Festival.
Swank, a Basterd and a Bibliophile

Hilary Swank was in town last night to walk the red carpet and also to present the Trophée Chopard. Chopard is the luxury jeweler that crafts Cannes’ Palme d’Or award and every year since 2001 has given a prize to a promising new talent.
Previous winners have included Hayden Chritensen, Gael Garcia Bernal, Audrey Tautou and Jonathan Rhys Meyers. Last night, a “Basterd” and a book fan were honored.
French actress Lea Seydoux who’s in Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds” and German actor David Kross who starred in the Oscar-nominated “The Reader,” accepted their awards from two Oscar-winning actresses, Swank and Marion Cotillard.
No one really said anything, it was more of a presentation and photo op than anything else (no gift bags either).
